Pokemon Champions unlikely to get offline single player mode

· My Nintendo News

Many people seem to be enjoying Pokemon Champions and the ability to play against other skilled users, however there are some that wouldn’t mind an offline single player mode. VGC chatted with Masaaki Hoshino, the director of Pokémon Champions, to discuss a range of topics and one of those echoed was the possibility of an offline mode being added in the future. Hoshino said that’s a difficult one as adding single player modes would “move people away from the PvP.” He doesn’t completely rule it out, but says that he wants “to focus on PvP for the time being.”

“For the time being, we probably won’t be adding additional modes similar to Pokémon Stadium,” Hoshino answers.

“The reason is if you start adding a lot of single-player modes, that kind of moves people away from the PvP, and that actually increases the match time, which makes it a little more difficult for a PvP game. So at least while more people are increasingly playing, I want to focus on PvP for the time being.”
