Glenmuir High and St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) will clash in the 2025 ISSA daCosta Cup final after both schools booked their places with semifinal victories at Sabina Park on Wednesday.

STETHS are back in the ISSA daCosta Cup finals for the first time in a decade following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kemps Hill High.

STETHS will meet former champions Glenmuir High who earlier in the day defeated the St Catherine-based Dinthill Technical 2-1 to secure their place in the final. Glenmuir is located in Clarendon.

In an intriguing first half of the STETHS game, neither team could find the breakthrough.

However early in the second half, in the 48th minute, STETHS’ Kenoy Banton scored the decisive goal, sending the newcomers’ hopes crashing. The Clarendon-based Kemps Hill pushed hard for an equaliser, but stout defending from STETHS preserved their lead.

The win also keeps STETHS’ unbeaten record intact, with goalkeeper Johnoi Steadman recording his 14th clean sheet of the season and the team aiming for a sixth daCosta Cup title.

The final offers a chance for revenge, as Glenmuir had defeated STETHS 5-2 in last year’s quarterfinals.

The final will be held Saturday at the National Stadium, with a doubleheader featuring the Ben Francis Knockout Cup at 3 p.m., followed by the daCosta Cup final at 6 p.m.

The daCosta Cup is the symbol of rural schoolboy football supremacy in Jamaica.
