This RDR2 Mod Adds a Nemesis System Inspired by Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
by John Papadopoulos · DSOGamingModder ‘nicklovin99’ has released a new amazing mod for Red Dead Redemption 2. This mod adds a Nemesis-like system to the game, similar to what we’ve seen in Monolith’s Middle-Earth games. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
The enRage mod adds a living world to Red Dead Redemption 2. People have their own names, pasts, traits, and goals. They can make friends, hold grudges, seek revenge, and even leave their gang. Their actions shape the world as time goes by.
With this mod, people will remember you. If you rob, hurt, or kill someone, they may seek revenge. Their friends and kin may come after you, too. As such, it will be best to wear a mask to hide your face. If you shoot a foe, they may live on with scars or a limp. You can also talk to foes, scare them, or make deals with them.
With enRage, gangs will fight for power. Eight groups have their own leaders, ranks, men, money, and land. Leaders have goals, and new ones rise when old ones fall. Gangs can start wars over land, loss, or old grudges. Wars can grow, fade, or end in peace. You can hear fights in the hills, find dead men after a battle, or ride into an ambush. You can also help one side win by killing its foes.
Gangs will run camps, hideouts, and supply spots. You can sneak into camps, rob their money, or burn their goods. This can weaken a gang and let rivals take its land. Officers follow set plans, and their kin may hold a funeral when they die.
New events will also happen as you ride. You may meet foes, bounty hunters, patrols, or rival gangs. In towns, men with grudges may drink at bars or walk the streets. A fight can draw in their friends, kin, or gang mates.
And that’s not all. You can tie up or scare a man to ask about plans, leaders, or hidden goods. But he may lie to lead you into a trap. Your good and bad deeds also shape how each town sees you. So, you can send notes by wire, make peace, or threaten a foe.
Each new game will start with its own history. People can wed, fall ill, go to jail, rob stagecoaches, or die in fights. You can read about these events in the world log and local papers. The mod also tracks each shot you fire, showing the path of the bullet and the bones and organs it hits. Different ammo types have their own effects, too.
All in all, this appears to be one of the best gameplay mods for Red Dead Redemption 2. If you are currently playing it, I highly recommend trying it. You can download it from here.
