Final Fantasy Resonance Got an HD Sprite Remaster Mod

by · DSOGaming

Final Fantasy fans, here is something for you today. Final Fantasy Resonance is a new 2D-HD FINAL FANTASY game that has just come out on PC. And modder ‘PompokoTH’ has released a mod that aims to overhaul every pixel-art sprite in the game.

FFRS HD Sprite Remaster covers heroes, Visions, NPCs, monsters, and icons. Each sprite is carefully redrawn and lined up with the original frames. This keeps the same poses, movements, and animations as the base game.

The mod includes 849 sprite sheets and over 20,000 animation frames. It also gives Tina (Terra) her green hair from FINAL FANTASY VI. The latest update, v1.0.1, fixes many sprites. It also fixes issues with faces, shadows, and battle animations.

There are three versions to choose from. The full 4x version offers the highest level of detail. The 2x version takes up less space and includes the latest fixes. The Monster Pack only updates monsters and their icons, leaving all other sprites as they are.

To create FFRS HD Sprite Remaster, PompokoTH used AI tools. So, if you hate anything related to AI, you will call it AI slop. For everyone else, this is a cool overhaul of the pixelated 2D sprites. These new 2D sprites do not look as soft as those Square Enix released in its official FF remasters. They look really great.

At the end of the article, you can find some in-game screenshots with the new 2D sprites. As you can see, they perfectly fit the environment. They really look amazing in my opinion.

Installing the mod is simple. Just copy three files into the game’s Paks folder, and that’s it. To uninstall it, delete those files.

You can go ahead and download the mod from here.

Have fun!
