INEC reacts to viral claim on CVR suspension in Delta
by Adenle Ahmed Abiola · The Eagle OnlineThe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Delta State has dismissed a viral report that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Akwukwu Igbo, Oshimili North Local Government Area was suspended due to a faulty machine.
In a statement on Friday by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs Nseabasi Udom, INEC described the publication as false, misleading, and not originating from the commission.
INEC explained that the registration exercise is ongoing in line with its approved rotation schedule.
According to the commission, the CVR was deployed to Ibusa earlier on Thursday, where the exercise successfully took place. It further explained that the registration centre at Akwukwu Igbo would resume operations from July 6 to July 10, as part of the structured local government area.
