Breaking: Osun 2026: Accord takes first four announced LGs

Accord has been declared the winner of the first four local government areas whose results were announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.

The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, announced the results in the early hours of Sunday.

Ogunwole, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, announced the results at the State Collation Centre in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The upload of the election, which took place in the 30 local government areas of the state, to the INEC iREV portal, had been over 85 percent completed as at press time.

The results from the first four LGAs announced by INEC showed that the Accord, with the incumbent, Governor Ademola Adeleke, as candidate, defeated his major rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Oyebamiji.
