Governor Alia felicitates Muslim faithful on Eid-el-Fitr
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineGovernor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has felicitated the Muslim faithful in Benue State, Nigeria, and across the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Alia’s message to the faithful was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, on Friday.
He encouraged all Muslim Ummah to embrace the lessons, blessings, and spiritual benefits of Ramadan in their daily living, saying the Holy Prophet’s teachings of love, peace, justice, and sacrifice are major contributors to nation-building.
He said: “I felicitate with all Nigerians, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters in the State, on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, it is my hope and prayer that Ramadan’s spiritual lessons and the Holy Prophet’s teachings of love, justice, fairness, equity, peaceful co-existence with others, tolerance, honesty and dedication to duty, will remain with us all for the benefit and greater glory of our dear nation.”

Alia reminded all Nigerians of the importance of respecting the faith and beliefs of all, and urged all the Muslims to use the celebration for sober reflection, praying for the peace, unity, and progress of the State and nation.
The governor wished all the Muslim faithful a memorable Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
