Police arrest three over alleged murder of middle aged man
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineThe Edo State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the murder of a middle aged man in Auchi, the Administrative Headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the middle aged man has been identified as Francis, popularly known as Jogodo.
He was reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen at Abiodun Motor Park at Jattu junction of the area on Monday.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the arrest in a telephone interview with NAN in Auchi.
Ikoedem, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said three suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) said: “The command is aware and we have arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.

“The three suspects have all been transferred to the state Criminal Investigative Department on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident, and also to round up members of the syndicate.
“We have reasons to believe that they are more than these.”
The police spokesperson also disclosed that the park where the incident occurred had been shut indefinitely.
