Breaking: Osun 2026: INEC announces results from eight more LGAs
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineThe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results from eight more local government areas in Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
The results of the poll were announced by the Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, in the early hours of Sunday.
Ogunwole, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, announced the results at the State Collation Centre in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
INEC had earlier released results from eight local government areas, where the candidate of Accord and incumbent, Governor Ademola Adeleke, won in seven, with Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) taking one.
In the latest round of results, the eight local government areas were split evenly among Adeleke and Oyebamiji.
The Eagle Online is reporting that Osun State has 30 local government areas.
So far, results from 16 LGAs have been announced, with 14 outstanding.
