UEFA appoints German referee Siebert for Champions League final by Moronfolu Adeyemi

UEFA has appointed German referee Daniel Siebert to officiate the 2026 UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

European football’s governing body confirmed the appointment on Monday ahead of the final scheduled for May 30.

Siebert previously handled the second leg of Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid earlier in the competition.

The German official will now take charge as Arsenal face defending champions PSG in one of the biggest matches in European club football.

UEFA also announced appointments for the Europa League and Conference League finals.

French referee Francois Letexier will officiate the Europa League final between Freiburg and Aston Villa on May 20.

Letexier earlier refereed the Euro 2024 final.

The Conference League final between Crystal Palace and Rayo Vallecano will be handled by Italian referee Maurizio Mariani a week later.

For the women’s competition, Swedish referee Tess Olofsson was appointed to officiate the Women’s Champions League final between Barcelona and Olympique Lyonnais on May 23.
