by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineThe Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the reported removal of the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as its chairman.
The reaction followed reports that Uzodimma had been removed by about 20 of his colleagues in the umbrella body of the APC.
According to Arise News, the decision was announced at an Extraordinary Meeting of the PGF attended by about 20 governors in Abuja on Thursday night.
The meeting, which reportedly had in attendance governors from states such as Ogun, Bayelsa, and Enugu according to Arise News, was held hours after Uzodimma represented his colleagues at the submission of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential nomination and expression of interest forms, also in Abuja on Thursday.
But the PGF has dismissed the report.
In a statement by its Director General, Folorunso Aluko, the PGF described the report as false, misleading, and without any basis.
