Pickford set for court after police chase in £165k Lamborghini
by Moronfolu Adeyemi · The Eagle OnlineEverton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is set to appear in court after a police pursuit involving his £165,000 Lamborghini Urus in Cheshire.
The incident happened on April 14, when Pickford was allegedly involved in a driving manoeuvre that forced other motorists to take evasive action to avoid a collision near his home in Knutsford.
According to a witness account by PC Cecil Ricardo of Cheshire Constabulary, the officer saw the blue Lamborghini at a busy junction after leaving the local police station.
Ricardo said in his written statement, as reported by The Sun: “I then witnessed a blue Lamborghini Urus driving along Princess Street.
“It reached the junction with Toft Road, completely ignored the give way lines and pulled onto Toft Road causing two vehicles to slam on their brakes to avoid a collision.
“The Lamborghini then sped down Toft Road, Knutsford.
“I activated my emergency equipment, lights and sirens and attempted to catch up with the vehicle.”
The officer said he had to accelerate beyond the posted speed limit while attempting to catch up with the vehicle.
Ricardo stated: “At one point on Toft Road my vehicle’s speedometer indicated I was travelling at 50mph and the Lamborghini was still pulling away. The speed limit on that stretch of Toft Road is 30mph.”
Pickford eventually stopped and was identified by the officer, who said he was issued with a traffic offence report.

Ricardo continued: “I approached the driver’s side and the driver identified himself as Jordan Pickford.
“I cautioned Pickford, pointed out the offence of driving without due care and attention and issued a traffic offence report. He made no reply.”
Cheshire Police subsequently charged the 91-cap England international on September 23.
The case was initially dealt with under the Single Justice Procedure, which allows magistrates to handle some minor motoring offences without a full public hearing.
Pickford, however, opted to have the matter heard in person.
He entered an online guilty plea last Friday and requested to attend the sentencing hearing.
In his legal submission to the court, the Everton goalkeeper said: “I would like to attend court to put forward my mitigation.”
The hearing is scheduled for December 7 at Chester Magistrates’ Court.
Pickford could face between three and nine penalty points for a careless driving conviction, or a driving ban depending on the magistrate’s consideration of his mitigation.
The Lamborghini Urus involved in the incident is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 190mph.
