Ivan Toney faces assault charge over London nightclub incident
by Moronfolu Adeyemi · The Eagle OnlineEngland international Ivan Toney has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm following an alleged altercation at a London nightclub.
The 30-year-old Al-Ahli striker was charged by police last Thursday over an incident that allegedly took place at 100 Wardour Street in Soho on December 6.
Toney, who joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli from Brentford in August 2024, has remained on unconditional bail since his arrest shortly after the incident.
The England forward is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on September 24.
According to reports, the confrontation began when a fan attempted to put an arm around Toney while trying to take a photograph with him inside the nightclub.
A witness described the incident, saying: “He walked past a table of a group of lads.
“One of them recognised him and said, ‘Oh, it’s Ivan Toney’ and tried to put his hands around his neck to get a photo with him.
