A Family Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State, has sentenced Imeh Sunday, a 46-year-old man, to life imprisonment for the incestuous rape of his biological daughter.

The court found the accused guilty of repeatedly raping his daughter.

Presiding Judge, Justice Blessing Egwu of Family Court 2, handed down the maximum sentence of life imprisonment based on overwhelming evidence presented by the prosecution.

The case was prosecuted with the support of the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI), a non-governmental organisation focused on protecting the rights of children and indigent women.
