Paris FC appoint Rosenior as new head coach
by Moronfolu Adeyemi · The Eagle OnlineParis FC have confirmed the appointment of former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Ligue 1 club announced on Tuesday that the 41-year-old Englishman has signed a contract until June 2028 and will officially begin work on Thursday, July 9, when the squad returns for pre-season training.
Rosenior succeeds Antoine Kombouaré, who left the club after guiding Paris FC to an 11th-place finish in Ligue 1 and steering them away from relegation danger.
Announcing the appointment, the club said: ‘The English manager has signed a contract with the club until June 2028 and will take up his post on Thursday 9 July, when team training resumes.’
Explaining Kombouaré’s departure, Paris FC added: ‘Following this season and after discussions between all parties involved, it was decided to bring this collaboration to an end in order to open a new chapter in the club’s history.’
The appointment marks Rosenior’s third managerial role in less than a year.
He earned widespread praise after leading Strasbourg to European qualification before leaving to replace Enzo Maresca at Chelsea in January 2026. However, his spell at Stamford Bridge lasted less than four months before he was dismissed in April following a poor run of Premier League results.
Despite that setback, Paris FC believe Rosenior remains one of the brightest young coaches in European football.
The club described him as ‘one of the most promising coaches of his generation,’ noting that he has already built significant experience at the highest level.

Rosenior joins an ambitious Paris FC project backed by the Arnault family, owners of luxury goods giant LVMH, alongside minority shareholders Red Bull, with the club aiming to establish a clear football identity centred on developing talented young players.
Antoine Arnault welcomed the appointment, saying: ‘My family and I are delighted to welcome Liam to our club and to see him return to our league here in France.
“I have always been impressed by his philosophy of play and by what he has built with his teams, which often consist of young players.’
Rosenior will now be tasked with leading the club into the new Ligue 1 campaign as Paris FC seek to build on last season’s progress under their new long-term project.
