Music from Greece, Greece’s national Music Export Office, will organise and coordinate the country’s delegation to WOMEX 2026, with the patronage and support of the Ministry of Culture.
For the fourth consecutive year, Music from Greece will return to the world’s leading international music industry event, aiming to build a coordinated and recognisable national presence while creating professional opportunities for people working in Greek music.
Worldwide Music Expo “WOMEX 2026″ will take place from October 21-25 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. Each year, the event brings together more than 2,600 professionals from around 90 countries, including festival representatives, concert promoters, booking and management companies, record labels, publishers, journalists and cultural organisations.
For Greece’s music ecosystem, WOMEX represents more than an international industry event. It provides one of the key gateways to the global music market, creating opportunities for international collaborations, performances, tours and new professional paths for Greek artists.
Kadinelia and Alkyone to showcase Greek music
Greece will have two distinct showcase appearances at WOMEX 2026 on October 24, highlighting different aspects of contemporary Greek music.
The presence of two Greek acts in the Official Showcase Selection and offWOMEX programme strengthens the international focus of the Greek delegation.
Kadinelia – Official Showcase Selection
The duo of Evi Seitanidou and Thanasis Zikas transforms traditional Greek sounds through acoustic guitars, vocal harmonies, lyra, tsampouna, blues, rock and psychedelic influences, creating a dynamic bridge between East and West.
Alkyone – upBeat Night, part of the offWOMEX Showcase
The singer-songwriter from Edessa combines traditional songs from northern Greece with contemporary compositions, indie folk, cinematic textures and an atmospheric vocal style.
“The fourth consecutive year of our presence at WOMEX is particularly significant, as Greece will be represented by two showcase acts, Kadinelia and Alkyone,” said Angeliki Spyridaki, founder of Music from Greece.
“This development confirms the international potential of contemporary Greek music. Our goal is to turn this international visibility into meaningful collaborations and new professional opportunities for Greek artists,” she added.
Greek national pavilion creates international meeting point
Music from Greece will again organise a national delegation rather than simply supporting individual artists.
For the fourth consecutive year, the organisation will centre Greece’s presence around the national pavilion, located at D11-D12. The pavilion will provide a shared space for representation, professional meetings, promotion and international networking for Greek artists and music professionals.
Music from Greece aims to create a modern, coordinated and recognisable national presence that showcases the breadth of Greek music production and strengthens Greece’s position on the international music map.
Previous editions have demonstrated the reach of the Greek presence. The delegation held more than 80 professional meetings in 2023, more than 60 meetings in 2025 and welcomed more than 500 guests to its Greek reception in 2024.
Greek reception planned for October 24
Music from Greece will host a Greek reception at the national pavilion on Saturday, October 24, bringing together professionals from the international music industry, festival representatives, cultural organisations, journalists and potential partners from around the world.
The event will combine professional networking with an introduction to Greek hospitality and gastronomy.
Music from Greece promotes Greek artists internationally
Music from Greece is Greece’s national Music Export Office and a non-profit organisation founded by music professionals and artists to support the international development of Greek music.
The organisation facilitates the participation of artists, companies and organisations in international markets, organises national delegations and creates links between Greek music professionals and partners around the world.
The 2026 WOMEX programme will give international industry professionals an opportunity to discover two examples of contemporary Greek music through Kadinelia and Alkyone.
