Miltiadis Tentoglou’s long jump final headlines a packed Greek programme on the second day of the European Athletics Championships.

Several Greek athletes will compete across qualifying rounds and finals, with Tentoglou providing the main evening highlight as he bids for another European title.

Morning and afternoon programme

The day begins with the men’s high jump qualification at 12:33, with Andreas Merlos competing in Group B and Antonis Mitas in Group A. The qualification mark stands at 2.26m, with the bar scheduled to rise through 2.10m, 2.15m, 2.19m, 2.23m and 2.26m.

At 13:40, Konstantinos Roumtsios will compete in the 110m hurdles qualifying round, with the 12 fastest athletes advancing.

Christos Pavlidis follows at 14:00 in Group B of the men’s discus qualification, where athletes must reach 66.00m to qualify automatically.

At 14:05, Polyniki Despollari will line up in the first heat of the women’s 800m qualifying round. The top three from each heat plus the four fastest remaining athletes will advance.

The afternoon programme continues at 14:40 with Giorgos Levantinos competing in the first heat of the men’s 400m hurdles qualifying round. The 12 fastest athletes will progress.

Evening programme

The evening session brings several major Greek appearances.

At 21:05, Katerina Stefanidi will compete in Group A of the women’s pole vault qualification, while Alexandra Adamopoulou will compete in Group B. The automatic qualification mark stands at 4.55m.

At 21:10, Christos Frantzeskakis will contest the men’s hammer throw final, giving Greece another medal opportunity.

The biggest Greek moment of the day comes at 22:16, when Miltiadis Tentoglou takes part in the men’s long jump final.

The Greek programme concludes at 23:00 with Sokhna Francks competing in the third semifinal of the men’s 400m. The top two athletes from the heat, plus the next two fastest times, will advance to the final.
