Panathinaikos produced an impressive performance to secure their place in the final of the Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament, defeating Bourg 90-69 at the Telekom Center.

Zeliko Obradovic’s side controlled the game from the opening minutes and quickly turned the contest into a one-sided affair.

Panathinaikos dominate from the start

Lefteris Mantzoukas led the early charge, scoring 12 points on four-of-five shooting from three-point range as the hosts opened a 25-10 lead after the first quarter.

The picture remained unchanged in the second period, with Panathinaikos maintaining control and taking a 20-point advantage into half-time at 51-31.

The Greens continued to apply strong defensive pressure after the break while finding scoring contributions from across the team.

Sylvain Francisco led all scorers with 18 points, while Mathias Lessort added 15 points and seven rebounds. Dinos Mitoglou also reached double figures with 10 points.

Balanced attack carries Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos maintained a high defensive intensity throughout the second half and moved the ball effectively at the other end.

The team did not rely on a single scorer. Panathinaikos consistently moved the ball and found solutions both inside the paint and from the perimeter.

All 11 players used by Obradovic scored during the game, underlining the breadth of the team’s offensive contribution.

The quarter scores were 25-10, 51-31, 69-44 and 90-69.

PAOK await in the final

Panathinaikos will face PAOK in Saturday’s final, scheduled for September 19 at 8pm.

The game will conclude this year’s Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament, held in memory of the late Panathinaikos president and basketball figure.
