Maria Sakkari says preparations for her wedding to Konstantinos Mitsotakis have started — and that they are still in the first set.

She spoke to the Proinos camera at the airport. Some decisions are in place, she said, but her match schedule leaves little room to rush.

If the planning were a tennis match, she and Mitsotakis would still be in the opening set. She had many tournaments this year and only one week off in summer. Asia events run to the end of the year. Nothing is “up in the air,” she added. They are moving step by step and feel no pressure.

The wedding is planned for 2027 in Crete. They have not named a date or venue. The couple have been together since 2021. Their relationship became public when Mitsotakis supported her at Roland Garros. He proposed in early 2026. She has worn the engagement ring since then.

In an earlier interview she called the wedding “small” — then put the guest list at about 500 to 600.

They have kept their private life quiet and do not want the wedding to crowd out her season. For now the calendar is matches, flights and training. The planning, she said, has only just begun.
