Stefanos Tsitsipas Cruises Into Montreal Masters Main Draw

by · Greek City Times

Stefanos Tsitsipas booked his place in the main draw of the Montreal Masters after defeating Canadian Keegan Rice in straight sets during the qualifying tournament.

The Greek star, currently ranked No. 51 in the world, justified his status as the favourite with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over world No. 831 Keegan Rice. Tsitsipas sealed the win in just 74 minutes to secure qualification.

Playing in a qualifying event for the first time since 2018, Tsitsipas controlled the match from the outset. He earned a crucial break in the fourth game of the opening set before serving confidently to take the set 6-3.

The former world No. 3 carried that momentum into the second set, breaking early and maintaining control throughout the contest to close out a comfortable straight-sets victory.

Tsitsipas will learn his first-round opponent once the qualifying tournament concludes. Main draw action at the ATP Masters 1000 event begins on Sunday.
