Ranveer Singh To Play Lord Shiva In ‘The Immortals Of Meluha’ Trilogy? Amish Tripathi Reacts To Reports
by SpotboyE Team · SpotboyEReports suggest that Ranveer Singh may be gearing up for one of the most ambitious projects of his career, with buzz around a big-screen adaptation of The Immortals of Meluha. According to multiple media reports, the actor is expected to headline a grand mythological trilogy inspired by author Amish Tripathi’s bestselling Shiva Trilogy.
The reports claim that Ranveer has acquired the rights to the novel under his production banner, Maa Kasam Film, and partnered with Birla Studios to develop the story into a three-part cinematic franchise. The adaptation is reportedly in its early development stage, with the team currently focusing on screenplay writing and large-scale world-building.
If the project moves ahead, Ranveer is expected to portray Lord Shiva in the trilogy. Sources quoted in reports suggest that the makers are planning to create a visually rich mythological universe, though the director and supporting cast are yet to be finalized. The first installment is reportedly expected to go on floors in 2028 after the actor wraps up his existing commitments, including upcoming projects like Pralay and another collaboration with filmmaker Aditya Dhar.
Originally published in 2010, The Immortals of Meluha reimagines Lord Shiva as a human hero who eventually becomes a legendary figure. The novel became a massive success and was followed by two sequels, creating one of India’s most popular mythological fiction franchises.
However, amid the growing excitement online, Amish Tripathi has denied reports claiming that the rights have officially been sold. Responding to the speculation, the author clarified, “The rights for the Shiva Trilogy are with me. And nothing has been signed with anyone as yet.” He also added that he has “huge respect” for Ranveer Singh but called the circulating reports untrue for now.
