Tricolour flies high… at Amrit Sarovars
by InsideOut Consult · Star of MysoreH.D. Kote: To celebrate the 80th Independence Day with a focus on patriotism, water conservation and environmental protection, National Flags were hoisted on the bunds of lakes coming under various Gram Panchayats in the taluk yesterday.
National Flags were hoisted on the bunds of lakes at Naganahalli, Hebbalaguppe, Chikereyour, Savve, Noralakuppe, Tumbasoge and Chakkodanahalli, besides planting saplings and creating awareness on water conservation in Annur Gram Panchayat limits.
At the bund of the Amrit Sarovar at K.G. Hundi in Chakkodanahalli Gram Panchayat limits, Anganwadi children displayed their patriotism by donning the roles of freedom fighters and soldiers.
Under the VB-G RAM G (Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, earlier MGNREGA) scheme, 85 Amrit Sarovar lakes developed across the district served as focal points of the celebrations. The programmes also encouraged rural households to make use of the livelihood security benefits available under the VB-G RAM G scheme.
