Man sentenced to life for murder
by InsideOut Consult · Star of MysoreMysuru: The 7th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of brutally murdering a man for revenge.
The convict is 38-year-old Basavaraju, a resident of Sharadadevinagar while the deceased is Anand, who was residing in No. 129 at Unnathi Suites Service Apartment in Kuvempunagar G & H Block. On Mar. 6, 2020 at about 3 am, Basavaraju, who went to the apartment, brutally assaulted Anand with a knife, empty beer bottles and other liquor bottles and killed him.
The then Kuvempunagar Inspector G.C. Raju, who had registered a case, conducted investigation and had submitted a charge sheet to the Court.
Judge V.H. Dayananda, who took up the case, heard the arguments from both side, found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 1 lakh.
Public Prosecutor N.B. Vijayalakshmi argued on behalf of the Government.
