Prosecutors Plan to Drop 2 of the Charges Against Alexander Brothers

A federal judge in the case must decide whether she will approve dropping the charges against the brothers, who are accused of sex trafficking. The three men would still face 10 other charges.

Federal prosecutors said on Friday that they planned to drop two charges against the Alexander brothers in their sex-trafficking trial.

“We don’t plan to proceed to the jury with counts six and seven,” Madison Smyser, an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, told Judge Valerie E. Caproni in a conference with lawyers on Friday. The jury was not present.

Both counts concern a charge of sex trafficking against all three brothers — Oren, Alon and Tal Alexander — in June 2009. If Judge Caproni approves the dismissal, the brothers would still face 10 counts, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.

Federal prosecutors have argued that the brothers violently raped and sexually assaulted dozens of victims over more than 20 years. In some cases, the indictment says, they drugged victims before the attacks. The men now face 10 counts, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.

The men have denied all allegations and have pleaded not guilty. If convicted, they could face life in prison.

Oren Alexander, 38, and Tal Alexander, 39, were two of America’s top-earning real estate brokers, regularly closing million-dollar deals before two women accused them of sexual assault in 2024, knocking them from their perch. Alon Alexander, 38, is Oren Alexander’s twin and did not work in real estate but was a regular on the party circuits of both Manhattan and Miami alongside his brothers.
