“He simply has it all” – Bayern Munich urged to move for Tottenham star

Bayern Munich have been urged to consider a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro this summer.

Speaking to SportBILD, former Bayern star Valérien Ismaël has insisted that the Tottenham star would be an ideal addition for the German champions.

World Cup success

Pedro Porro is currently enjoyed a well-earned break following the World Cup, where he was a key player for Spain in their eventual success.

The full-back was one of Spain’s key players throughout the tournament, playing in all but two of their games – the opener against Cape Verde and the win over Uruguay. He started each of their games in the knockout stages, including the final when they beat Argentina.

That success helped it to be a refreshing summer for the full-back, who had entered the tournament on the back of a gruelling season with Tottenham in which they had narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship.

He had been touted as one of those who could leave as a result. Many have anticipated a major clear out of Robert de Zerbi’s squad before the window closes. But instead, Porro signed a new long-term deal with the club in June.

Transfer flirtation

He has since insisted he did so because of a feeling of faith from Spurs. Although Sport Witness later covered comments from him that included a little flirting with Barcelona. Now Ismaël has urged Bayern to make a move.

“Spain’s Pedro Porro has shown that he is an incredible defender,” he said when asked which player ‘inspired him’ at the World Cup.

“He would truly be a fantastic addition to FC Bayern. Full backs of this calibre are always hard to find. Porro is strong in the tackle and tenacious defensively, fast, and always capable of a dangerous attacking move.

“He simply has it all. I can easily picture him in Vincent Kompany’s team; he would be a great fit there.”
