Director reveals Manchester City and Bayern Munich interest – Nottingham Forest will now struggle

Feyenoord sporting director Dévy Rigaux says Manchester City and Bayern Munich showed interest in Givairo Read in the summer window. Nottingham Forest made repeat attempts, will struggle against such competition.

“We had a substantial offer from Roma for Givairo Read, our right-back. Bayern and City were also interested. And there were clubs in France and Spain interested in Zechiel. Then there was Valente, and the case of Moussa, who had been targeted by Al Ittihad, who made a high offer but without a bank guarantee.”

“But we refused to sell them because their time here wasn’t over yet, and we know that if the team improves, they’ll be worth even more.”

If Manchester City or other clubs are still keen on Read, he will be more expensive in the upcoming windows. For Nottingham Forest, their chance may have gone.

Read has an assist from five matches this season. The fullback has a contract until 2029, and Transfermarkt value him at €25m.
