‘Very far away’ – Panic over Hull City game time as player facing difficulties
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessRobinho Vaz joined Hull City on an initial loan deal from AS Roma in the summer transfer window. Concerns are growing about the attacker’s situation in England.
The Frenchman initially joined the Giallorossi from Marseille in January 2026. This came when Roma were desperate for an attacking signing and Gian Piero Gasperini had made this very clear.
They paid over €22m for the deal and that amount is not minor by any means for Italian clubs. Vaz couldn’t cement a spot for himself at Roma and this led to a move to Hull City, who executed a late move in the summer.
The player’s situation has not changed even now and is attracting attention in Italy.
Panic over low game time
SoloLaRoma report that Hull City have an option to buy for €30m. The player hasn’t done anything to indicate that he deserves to be signed for that amount.
The outlet notes how the talent has made just two appearances for the Tigers, with both of them coming off the bench. This is seen as a negative sign, which doesn’t help Roma at all.
They would ideally want to make a capital gain from his exit, but that possibility is ‘very far away’.
But the Giallorossi will keep an eye on the situation, expecting Vaz to become a regular for Hull City soon enough.
Permanent deal will be huge
Roma don’t always pay major amounts in the market. When they do, those deals usually go down as being rather successful, with Donyell Malen being a good example of that.
If Vaz doesn’t turn things around, it would go down as a big loss on the Giallorossi’s accounts. However, f Hull City do sign him permanently, Roma will end up making a significant capital gain without ever using the player often.
They will use that money to improve their squad, which is why they’re keen for positive signs.
The player would hope to do the same. He showed quite a bit of promise at Marseille and it is time to do the same in England.
