“Of course, it’s fun” – Bundesliga ace aware Arsenal and Liverpool want him

The left-back initially joined BVB on loan from FC Nordsjælland in February 2025 and made his stay permanent later that year.
He managed seven goals and seven assists from 73 matches, of which seven matches are from this season.
Arsenal and Liverpool summer interest
The Sweden international’s development at Borussia Dortmund has already seen him attract interest from the Premier League.
In February, Sport Witness covered a report from Germany that Arsenal and Leeds United chased him. However, neither of them secured his services in the summer.
During the last window, there were reports about Arsenal and Liverpool wanting to sign the 24-year-old. Andoni Iraola’s side reportedly had a concrete plan for him.

Swede responds to Arsenal and Liverpool claims
Daniel Svensson admits it is flattering that there are reports of the Premier League giants wanting him and has also come across it.
However, the player makes it clear there was no concrete approach from Mikel Arteta’s side or the Anfield club.
“I saw something about it. But I haven’t heard anything more about. Of course, it can be fun to read,” he said.
“There was nothing concrete and I had not heard anything more than what was in the newspaper. I am happy in Dortmund and look forward to continuing my journey there.”
When asked was he close to joining either of them, Svensson explained: “No. Not at all. Quite honestly.”
The Swede’s contract at the Signal Iduna Park runs down in 2029 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €22m. If he were to continue to shine for BVB, other clubs may consider signing him in the future windows.
Liverpool are unlikely to sign him soon considering Andoni Iraola has Milos Kerkez and Konstantinos Tsimikas as his two left-backs.
Meanwhile, Arteta has Riccardo Calafiori as the only recognised left-back at the Emirates. The Gunners may look to improve this position in January or next summer.
