Talks open to sign Everton player – New proposal now submitted

Fiorentina remain in active talks with Everton over a deal for Beto, despite their interest in Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee.

Journalist Gianluca di Marzio reports that the Italian side are moving to secure a replacement for Moise Kean. The Everton striker remains on their shortlist.

Di Marzio explains that while Zirkzee remains the top target, Manchester United have not yet given the green light to a deal for the Dutchman. They are so far resisting Fiorentina’s paid loan with an option to buy proposal.

Everton talks ongoing

As a result, Fiorentina are keeping talks with Everton regarding Beto alive. They have now submitted a new proposal to the Toffees for the 28-year-old.

There is no mention of the nature of that proposal, however, it is unlikely that Everton would sanction a loan deal at this point.

Not only is it late in the window, so they have little opportunity to find a replacement, but the striker is also in the final year of his deal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Blues reportedly have an option to extend that by a year but would likely prefer a full sale this summer over delaying the issue by a season. A loan with an obligation to buy, even under certain circumstances, could be the ideal solution.

Fiorentina in front

Fiorentina now appear to be at the front of the queue for the Everton striker after Como dropped away.

Sport Witness covered a report earlier this week explaining that both Como and Fiorentina were interested in the striker. That was all closely tied to Moise Kean – a former Everton striker himself – and what happened to him.

Como want to secure his signature but if that deal wasn’t progressing, then they would turn to Beto instead. Now that deal is progressing, it seems Fiorentina will be given a clear run.
