The League Of Legends world championship took place over the weekend with Linkin Park performing as part of the opening ceremony.

The 2024 League Of Legends world championship saw Korea’s T1 take on China’s Bilibili Gaming at London’s O2 Arena, with T1 eventually crowned for the fifth time.

Before the arena battle game head-to-head kicked off though, League Of Legends put on an impressive opening ceremony. The 12-minute performance started with Ashnikko performing Arcane anthem ‘Paint The Town Blue’ live for the very first time before Forts and Tiffany Aris took to the stage for the dramatic ‘Still Here’ which featured appearances from both League Of Legends teams.

Linkin Park then took over for ‘Heavy Is The Crown’. The blistering track features on their new album ‘From Zero’ and is also the anthem for the 2024 League Of Legends world championship. Check out the whole opening ceremony below.

“As we were putting together our new music, it was natural that the conversations began about [League Of Legends and] Worlds,” Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda said during a Q+A session with League publishers Riot. “I think there’s a lot of synergy between what they’re doing creatively and what we’re doing. There’s a lot of synergy between fanbases as well.”

A new version of ‘Heavy Is The Crown’ will also feature on the Arcane season two soundtrack, alongside new tracks from the likes of Twenty One Pilots, Stray Kids and King Princess.
