Maharashtra elections: Before announcing candidates, the NCP released list of 27 star campaigners for Maharashtra elections to the 288-member Maharashtra assembly that will be held on November 20 and votes will be counted on November 23.

Maharashtra Assembly elections: The Nationalist Congress Party on Wednesday declared the first list of candidates and has fielded Ajit Pawar from Baramati, and Chhagan Bhujbal from Yeola. The party has also fielded Dilip Valse-Patil from Ambegaon, Hasan Mushrif from Kagal, Dhananjay Munde from Parli and Narhari Jhirwal from Dindori.

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena has released its first list of 45 candidates for the Maharashtra assembly polls, nominating Chief Minister Eknath Shinde from Kopri-Panchpakhadi in Thane city and more than half a dozen cabinet members from their respective seats. As per the list released late Tuesday night, the ruling party has re-nominated almost all the MLAs who backed Shinde when he led a revolt against the then-chief minister Uddhav Thackeray in June 2022.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, NCP working president Praful Patel, the party's state head Sunil Tatkare and a host of cabinet members figure in a list of 27 star campaigners released by the ruling coalition partner for the November 20 assembly polls.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), a constituent of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, is yet to declare its candidates for the polls to the 288-member assembly. Before announcing its candidates, which is expected this week, the regional party came out with a list of 27 star campaigners for the assembly elections.
