BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans demand show change amid 'absolute farce'

Strictly Come Dancing fans were up in arms, labelling the results from Sunday night's dance-off as an "absolute farce". With Blackpool Week on the horizon, the stakes were especially high this weekend, with each couple trying to make it to the next round.

But two couples found themselves in the bottom and had to dance once more hoping to get the judges' support. Wynne Evans and Katya Jones alongside Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu were the contestants who garnered the fewest votes, who took to the dancefloor for a second time to perform their American Smooth and Rumba respectively.

But when the judges cast their votes, their opinions were split. Viewers rushed online to voice their frustration, particularly over Head Judge Shirley Ballas having the casting vote in the event of a tie.

A viewer vented: "An absolute farce of a decision. The votes were even at 2-2 so why should Shirley's vote be the deciding vote? If the votes are equal it should go to the public vote. Shayne was a far better dancer than Wynne. #strictly."

Another expressed disbelief: "wtf? seriously, shirley, it's not about joyous, it's about who did it better. #Strictly.", reports the Mirror.

A third suggested an alternative: "Urgh I hate that as head judge she decides. Should only be 3 judges then, or keep 4 and if it goes to deadlock like that, keep it as the public vote... whoever has the least votes goes. #strictly."

Someone else concurred: "There really shouldn't be a head judge, take it back to the public vote #strictly," as another remarked: "There is no need for a head judge (especially Shirley). Just go to the results of the public vote, lowest goes home... #strictly."

While the former X Factor victor won't return next week, eight celebrities are still in the fray, all set to perform at the iconic Blackpool Ballroom Tower. In anticipatory build-up to the hotly anticipated live extravaganza, teasers about the song choices were dropped earlier this evening.

The first being EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick's next routine which is going to be danced to Las Ketchup's The Ketchup Song. Meanwhile, ex-Towie star Pete Wicks will be performing the Cha Cha Cha to I'm Too Sexy For This Shirt, causing him to put his head in his hands laughing.

But who is going to impress on the big night and whose final dance will it be at the Blackpool Ballroom Tower?
