As the days get shorter and the evenings grow cooler, what better way to celebrate the end of summer with a full calendar of autumn fun?

From Pumpkin picking and Halloween entertainment to live music and family activities, there are plenty of ways for families to enjoy the season in Devon.

Strawberry Fields in Lifton is gearing up to welcome families throughout October for the return of Pumpkin Fest, with selected dates running from October 3 to 31.

The celebrations will continue after dark with four Pumpkin Nights evenings on October 16, 17, 23 and 24, promising a celebration of all things pumpkin, Halloween magic and family fun.

Across acres of farmland at Strawberry Fields, thousands of pumpkins in an array of shapes, colours and sizes have been grown especially for Pumpkins.

But there’s a lot more than just pumpkins.

Visitors can step into a seasonal spectacle packed with Instagram-worthy photo opportunities, live music, walk-around entertainment, interactive barrel train rides and plenty of family-friendly fun.

Award-winning magician Magic Martin will bring his magic show to the festival, alongside a programme of entertainment for all ages, including an all-new puppet show from Dangerous Dave for 2026.

Those looking to refuel can enjoy a selection of homemade favourites, including burgers, freshly made pizzas, delicious warm donuts, marshmallow toasting and the much-loved Pumpkin Arms bar.

The Mounce family said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome families back to Strawberry Fields for Pumpkin Fest this autumn. We’ve been working hard to make this year’s event bigger and more exciting than ever, with the return of Pumpkin Nights and plenty of Halloween surprises.

“We can’t wait to see families exploring the pumpkin patch, enjoying the entertainment and making memories together.”

As the latest addition to the Strawberry Fields seasonal calendar, Pumpkin Nights offers visitors the opportunity to experience the magic of the pumpkin patch after dark across four October evenings.

As daylight fades, the farm takes on a whole new atmosphere, with glowing pumpkins, atmospheric lighting and autumnal surroundings creating a magical setting after dark.

Adding a fiery twist to the festivities, skilled fire dancers will take centre stage with incredible performances and breathtaking flame choreography.

Alongside live music, immersive displays and walk-around entertainment, Pumpkin Nights will bring an exciting mix of Halloween atmosphere, live entertainment and late-night adventure to Strawberry Fields.

Visitors can tuck into seasonal treats, grab a drink from the Pumpkin Arms bar, and gather around the fire pits to toast marshmallows as the evening unfolds.

Pumpkin Fest will be held on October 3, 4, 10, 17, 18 and from 24 to 31.

Tickets from £5.95 per person and under-ones go free.

Meanwhile, Occombe Farm in Paignton is also getting into the Halloween spirit with its own pumpkin patch opening on October 10.

Families can head to the farm, pick up the perfect pumpkin and enjoy some spooky surprises along the way.

Entry is free and open to families, little ones, or those just looking for the perfect autumn photo.
