1. Reed Richards

Survival Likelihood: 100%

You do not spend years building up anticipation for Marvel's First Family only to eliminate their team leader in his first proper crossover event. Reed's intense personal history and deep intellectual rivalry with Victor von Doom serve as the core emotional anchor for this entire multiversal saga. He is the ultimate plot-armored hero of Phase 6, and Marvel explicitly needs his brilliant scientific mind alive to guide the surviving heroes through whatever apocalyptic collapse Doom inflicts on reality.

2. Sam Wilson

Survival Likelihood: 99%

Sam has only recently taken up the iconic shield, and he is actively working to assemble his own roster of Avengers. Marvel won't spend multiple movies establishing Sam as the new moral compass and tactical center of Earth-616 only to sacrifice him before the final multiversal battle. Expect Sam to endure severe emotional losses and take some serious physical beatings, but he will absolutely be leading the frontline when the final credits roll.

3. Shang-Chi

Survival Likelihood: 95%

Those mysterious, ancient Ten Rings are deeply tied to broader multiversal energy, meaning Shang-Chi still has a major role in the MCU's grand architecture. As one of the most breakout, widely beloved new heroes introduced post-Endgame, he is being deliberately set up as a foundational anchor for the next era of Avengers. Doom might push him to his physical limits, but Shang-Chi is safely moving on to the next chapter.

4. Sue Storm

Survival Likelihood: 85%

While Doom certainly holds a deep, bitter personal grudge against this specific family, Marvel needs the core Fantastic Four team intact to carry the emotional weight of Secret Wars. Sue's incredible force-field abilities make her one of the most formidable defensive assets on the battlefield, so while her teammates might sustain brutal injuries, Sue is guaranteed to pull through the immediate chaos.

5. Yelena Belova

Survival Likelihood: 80%

As the de facto emotional heart of the Thunderbolts crew, Yelena possesses immense fan appeal, sharp comedic timing, and plenty of character growth left to explore. Killing off another Black Widow figure would feel completely redundant after Natasha's tragic sacrifice in Endgame, so Marvel will almost certainly keep her alive to ground the street-level heroes amid all the cosmic madness.

6. Shuri

Survival Likelihood: 75%

Wakandan technology will play an indispensable tactical role in defending Earth against Doom's high-tech invasions and multiversal incursions. Shuri’s rare combination of brilliant scientific genius, royal leadership, and vibranium combat skills makes her far too valuable an asset to eliminate early in the crossover, ensuring Wakanda remains a primary stronghold.

7. Joaquin Torres

Survival Likelihood: 70%

Joaquin represents the next generation of aerial heroes working alongside Sam Wilson. Marvel recently gave him the wings to step into the Falcon persona, and wiping him out so soon would undercut the legacy buildup they have been fostering.

8. Ava Starr

Survival Likelihood: 65%

Having finally stabilized her quantum phasing abilities, Ghost brings a unique covert skillset to the team. While she will certainly be put in high-risk infiltration scenarios against Doom's fortress, her ability to phase through physical attacks gives her a massive defensive advantage over purely physical brawlers.

9. Thor

Survival Likelihood: 55%

Thor has lost his parents, his brother, his best friends, his original home, and almost all of his founding Phase 1 teammates. A grand, tragic sacrifice where he goes down fighting Doom's forces with thunderous fury would bring a poetic, warrior-style closure to his decade-long MCU journey. If any veteran hero is getting a dramatic, tear-jerking curtain call to establish Doom's threat, it is the God of Thunder.

10. Remy LeBeau

Survival Likelihood: 50% (Unsure)

Brought into the multiversal fray as a fan-favorite legacy entrant, Gambit is primed for high-octane action sequences. However, multiversal wildcards like Remy are notorious target practice for main villains trying to establish their terrifying power level right out of the gate.

But another thing to note is that Gambit is an X-Men member, and since Kevin Feige just revealed the cast for the new X-Men movie, that balances the theory on whether he'd die, because he might appear alongside our Marvel newcomers.

11. John Walker

John Walker has spent his entire MCU tenure trying to live up to a legacy that constantly suffocates him. Taking a fatal, reckless blow meant for Cap or his teammates would give him the ultimate heroic validation he has been chasing, making his sacrifice a prime emotional beat for Doom's arrival.

Scott's extensive hands-on experience with the Quantum Realm makes him a high-priority target for a villain who wants total control over space and time. Every massive Avengers crossover needs a shocking, high-stakes casualty to prove how dangerous the central antagonist truly is, and Scott’s death would devastate fans while allowing his daughter Cassie to fully step up into her power.

13. Bucky Barnes

Survival Likelihood: 20%

Bucky has been walking a painful line between long-overdue redemption and tragic self-sacrifice for over a decade. Stepping in front of a lethal attack meant for Sam Wilson or Yelena Belova feels like a very plausible finish to his long redemption arc, giving his complex character a heroic end after decades of enduring brainwashed trauma.

14. Charles Xavier

Multiversal incursions almost always result in entire alternate dimensions getting systematically erased to demonstrate the villain's overwhelming authority. Returning legacy icons like Professor X exist almost entirely to give Doctor Doom a terrifying flex demonstration, proving to audiences that even the most powerful telepath in existence stands zero chance against him.

Alexei’s entire narrative purpose relies on his desperate, comedic, and heart-wrenching desire to prove himself as a legitimate hero to his adopted daughter, Yelena. Throwing his body directly into danger to save Yelena from Doom’s absolute wrath is practically written in the stars, making him the absolute most vulnerable, guaranteed goner on this entire roster.

No matter who makes it through the final battle, one thing is crystal clear: Avengers: Doomsday is going to be an absolute emotional roller coaster that reshapes the entire landscape of the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever. With Doctor Doom pulling the strings, no hero is truly safe.
