The Internet Is Losing Its Mind After Discovering This Fake Word Is Actually Real

The dictionary is starting DRAMA again.

One of our all-time faves, Merriam-Webster, decided to weigh in on one of the most controversial "words" of all-time: "supposably."

YES, "supposably" is a real, actual word:

They're not joking.

It's been a word since 1627.

And now, the dictionary is going on the offensive against it.

People are not happy about it!

The replies are a sea of literal hate.

People are having visceral reactions: "*eye twitch*"

Other people are popping off, "This wretched, slimy, unwashed, weak-spined excuse of a word has cursed our blessed language for four centuries."

People truly can't believe it: "Losing my ability to tell reality from satire."

Not everyone is losing their GD mind over it!

"Why are people so angry about this," one person asked.

Other people are giving thanks.

This person questioned their education and threatened their teachers, "Every teacher who told me supposably isn't a word... count your days."

And a bunch of people are saying something like: "Joey Tribbiani was right all along."
