LONDON — British military divers are preparing to conduct mine-clearing operations in case they are needed in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The Royal Navy experts, trained in mine neutralization and clearance, are being readied to provide additional options alongside uncrewed systems.

As military planners take part in a second day of talks hosted in London, the U.K. also confirmed it will offer autonomous mine-hunters as part of a proposed multinational mission to safeguard the strait.
