DTF St. Louis is a black comedy television miniseries created by Steven Conrad for HBO. The series has been making headlines for its impeccable cast and storyline. The show follows a love triangle between three adults experiencing middle-aged malaise, which leads to one of them being dead. The investigation results in the detectives finding out that they were connected through an app called "DTF St. Louis", which enables married couples to have an affair. Now, we are one episode away from the grand finale of the show. So, let's take a quick look at what the latest episode is pointing at for the final showdown.

What happened in DTF St. Louis Episode 6?

In Episode 6 of DTF St. Louis, 'Carol Love-Smernitch' essayed by Linda Cardellini, was seen telling her husband, 'Floyd Smernitch' played by David Harbour, that she made him squirm. The revelation was a disheartening moment and led 'Floyd' to lose his usual positive demeanour for the first time since the show began. He was so distraught that even his daily routine at the park and singing failed to brighten his mood. However, thankfully, 'Floyd' has a friend like 'Clark', essayed by Jason Bateman, who tries to cheer him up.

The truth behind 'Tiger Tiger' and the mysterious meeting at the pool

Later in DTF St. Louis Episode 6, the viewers also unravel the mystery of why 'Clark' became 'Tiger Tiger'. It is revealed that he created the profile in hopes of giving his friend some confidence. However, unfortunately for him, it backfired not once but twice. The first was when 'Floyd' decided he wanted to meet 'Tiger Tiger'. 'Clark' tried his best to convince his friend, 'Floyd', that he didn't need to meet whoever this 'Tiger Tiger was. Nonetheless, being the optimist he was, he wanted to meet him because he looked at this as an opportunity to make a new friend.

And, if they hug and 'Tiger Tiger' happens to get aroused, then cool. Because, for 'Floyd', it's all about making connections and making people happy. So, rather than let his friend down, 'Clark' goes out of town and attempts to pay someone to be 'Tiger Tiger'. And that's where the second issue comes. The person 'Clark' paid to be 'Tiger Tiger' ends up following him and sees 'Floyd'. However, unfortunately, when he saw the new 'Floyd', and not the picture 'Clark' had shown him almost a decade ago, the fake 'Tiger Tiger' nixed the meeting.

However, the worst was not over yet. 'Floyd' catches 'Clark' talking to the person he had hired to be 'Tiger Tiger'. 'Clark' has to tell him the entire truth about the twisted situation, which further destroyed whatever was left of 'Floyd's' confidence. Back in the present, 'Detectives Jodie Plumb', played by Joy Sunday, and 'Donoghue Homer', essayed by Richard Jenkins, are interrogating 'Clark'. They ask why 'Floyd' would go to the pool for a meet-up if 'Tiger Tige'r called it off. And that is the million-dollar question; apparently, no one has the answer to.

DTF St. Louis Episode 6 has raised several questions

Ever since 'Floyd' was murdered, the audience has had one question that has been plaguing their minds: Who killed him, and who was the mysterious person riding the bicycle that showed up while he was at the pool? Another question the viewers have been waiting to get an answer to is: when the meeting with the fake 'Tiger Tiger' had already been nixed, why did 'Floyd' show up, and who else knew he was there? While fans hoped to get some answers in Episode 6, which leads into the final episode, they got none. While the makers ensured that the mystery remains, they did a wonderful job at maintaining the suspense.

Why did DTF St. Louis Episode 6 end the way it did?

In many shows, such as DTF St. Louis, the murderer is revealed in the penultimate episode. However, that was not the case this time. The creative team behind DTF St. Louis wants their viewers keyed in until the finale, which will be released on April 12, 2026 (ET). Now, all any of us can hope for is that the reveal of how 'Floyd Smernitch' was killed is as good as the rest of the show has been. So, as fans wait for the finale, several questions are bugging them, including: Did 'Carol' or 'Clark' kill Floyd? Did 'Clark's' wife find out about the affair and murder 'Floyd' in a fit of rage? Or has this all been a fake-out, and someone else did the deed?
