#OndoDecides2024: PDP’s Agboola Ajayi Alleges INEC Compromise After Casting Vote

by · Naija News

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, cast his vote on Saturday, raising allegations that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has compromised the election process.

Ajayi arrived at Polling Unit 4, Idumado Quarter, Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area, nearly two hours after voting commenced.

However, his accreditation process was marred by delays caused by the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine.

Speaking after casting his vote, Ajayi expressed dissatisfaction with INEC’s handling of the exercise.

Ajayi highlighted the challenges he faced during the accreditation process, which took INEC officials approximately five minutes to resolve due to technical issues with the BVAS machine.

While commending voters for their peaceful conduct, Ajayi urged INEC to address lapses and ensure transparency in the exercise.

Speaking with newsmen, Ajayi said, “Things are not working. It took more than 10 minutes to capture me, the candidate of PDP.

“If INEC cannot organise a successful election in one state, you must know that we are running into anarchy.

“I think it’s deliberate on the part of INEC, the REC. We have said it several times that we don’t trust Barrister Olatoyin Babalola, that this woman can’t be fair. The system is compromised.”
