Gov Mutfwang Approves ₦70,000 Minimum Wage

The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has approved ₦70,000 minimum wage for the state’s workforce.

The Plateau State Head of Civil Service, Stephen Pam Gadong, stated this in a statement, on Thursday.

Gadong said the approval for immediate implementation of the minimum wage by Governor Mutfwang showed his commitment to the well-being of the state’s workforce.

He explained that the Governor appreciates the role of the state’s workforce in driving his administration’s developmental goals.

“Following the Signing of the Agreement of the Committee on Consequential Adjustment on Salaries on 13” November, 2024, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has approved the immediate implementation of the ₦70,000.00 minimum wage for workers in the state.

“The implementation is a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to prioritizing the wellbeing of the workforce in the acknowledgment of their invaluable role in driving the State’s developmental goals,” Gadong said.

The Head of Civil Service called on civil servants in the state to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture by putting more zeal in the discharge of their duties.

As the new wage policy is administered, Civil Servants are encouraged to embrace this gesture by recommitting to their duties with renewed dedication and zeal in order to foster a culture of productivity and excellence in the service of the State,” Gadong added.
