Earthquake Tremor Felt Strongly Across Yangon

An earthquake struck Yangon Region , with residents across the city reporting that the tremor was clearly felt.

The earthquake occurred at around 8:35 a.m. on May 18, and many residents said the shaking was noticeable.

“The earthquake shook quite strongly. It lasted about 10 seconds. Since I live in an apartment building, it was very noticeable,” a resident from Thaketa Township said.

“I was downstairs eating breakfast, so I felt the earthquake very clearly,” a resident from Kyauktada Township said.

The tremor was also reportedly felt clearly in many townships across Yangon, including North Dagon Township, East Dagon Township, Yankin Township, and Tamwe Township.
