Unlicensed vehicle seized in Nyaung Shwe and Heho during surprise inspection operation
· Eleven Media Group Co., LtdHeho, Shan State, May 27 — Authorities seized an unlicensed vehicle in Heho during a surprise inspection operation aimed at combating illegal goods and unregistered vehicles, according to local sources.
The seizure took place at around 11 am. on May 27 at the Inni junction on the Heho–Bawsine road in Bawsine Village Tract, Heho, Kalaw Township. A joint inspection team comprising police officers from Heho Police Station and witnesses was conducting a checkpoint operation when they stopped a white Toyota Crown bearing registration number SHN-38/6R---- that was traveling from Pindaya toward Heho.
Upon inspection, authorities became suspicious of the vehicle and questioned the driver. The driver was reportedly unable to produce any registration documents or legal proof of ownership for the vehicle.
As a result, the vehicle was seized by the authorities for further investigation. Officials said efforts to identify and take action against unlicensed vehicles and illegal activities in the area will continue.
Similarly,two unlicensed vehicles were seized in Nyaung Shwe on May 26.
The incident occurred at 4 pm on May 26 at the Paungpein checkpoint in Nyaung Shwe Township when officers from the Nyaung Shwe Township Police Station stopped and searched vehicles. They stopped a Honda Fit vehicle, SHN- 18 2M/xxxx, driven by Htet Wai Yan (35) of Nanwoe Village, Pin Laung Township, and a Honda Fit Shuttle vehicle, MDY -9 9P/xxxx, driven by Zin Ko Ko (34) of Shan Village, Pindaya Township. They found that the vehicles were unlicensed and that they were not found to be unlicensed. Accordingly, a case was opened against Htet Wai Yan and Zin Ko Ko under Section 8 of the Import and Export Law of Nyaung Shwe Township Police Station (Pa) 71-72/2026.
