Taunggyi Municipal Development Department orders trucks carrying bricks, sand, and stones to be covered

The Taunggyi Township Municipal Development Department has instructed trucks transporting bricks, sand, and stones to cover their loads, according to the department.

“The directive was issued because many trucks have been speeding through the municipal area without covering their cargo and failing to slow down at designated speed-reduction zones. As a result, bricks, sand, and stones often spill onto the roads, affecting the cleanliness of the town,” said U Thein Win, executive officer of the department.

The department has set a two-week education period, which will run until May 11. After that date, any truck carrying bricks, sand, or stones without proper covers will face action under the Municipal Development Law, he said.
