Seven Chinese Nationals arrested in Muse for alleged involvement in online scam and illegal gambling operations
· Eleven Media Group Co., LtdMuse - Authorities have arrested seven Chinese nationals allegedly involved in online scam and illegal gambling operations during a security raid in Muse Township, Shan State (North).
According to officials, joint security forces have been conducting inspections and investigations to prevent online scam syndicates from establishing operations in the area and to crack down on illegal online gambling activities.
At approximately 1:45 pm. on June 25, security personnel raided a house in Kaunghmu Lwei Ward, Kaunghmu Tone area of Muse Township, where they apprehended seven Chinese men who were reportedly residing in the country illegally and allegedly engaged in online scam and gambling activities.
Authorities seized 50 mobile phones, two all-in-one computers, one laptop, two motorcycles, and various other equipment believed to have been used in the operations.
Officials said the suspects will undergo further investigation before being prosecuted in accordance with existing laws. The confiscated equipment will also be processed following the relevant legal procedures.
