Foreign tourists from several European countries have visited the Wa Ale Island Resort, located within the Lampi Marine National Park in the Myeik Archipelago of Tanintharyi Region, according to the Ministry of Information.

During the tourism season, the resort welcomed visitors mainly from Germany, Russia, the United States, England, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, and other European countries. European travelers interested in environmental conservation and eco-tourism reportedly visited the island to explore its pristine marine scenery, forests, and rare wildlife species, mangrove ecosystems that serve as breeding grounds for fish and shrimp, and naturally preserved coral reefs.

The Wa Ale Island Resort accommodates more than 40 guests per day and offers services featuring seafood cuisine and natural wooden bungalows. Resort officials said accommodation packages are priced at US$850 per person during the peak months of December and January, while rates for the remaining months are set at US$800 per person.

Tourists usually visit the resort between November and the end of April. Although the resort typically begins accepting visitors from August each year, the current tourism season saw a significant increase in arrivals. As a result, advance bookings for the upcoming season have already been opened starting this May.

Lampi Island was officially designated as Lampi Marine National Park on February 28, 1996, and later recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park in 2003. According to reports, the highest number of visitors to Wa Ale Island Resort during the current tourism season came from Germany, followed by Russia and the United States
