UEC announces Phase 3 election date and participating townships

The Union Election Commission (UEC) announced the date and participating townships for the Phase 3 of multiparty democratic general election on December 25.

The Union Election Commission already announced the 102 townships participating in the Phase 1 of multiparty democratic general election to be held on December 28, 2025, through Announcement No.56/2025 on August 20, 2025, and the 100 townships participating in the Phase 2 of multiparty democratic general election to be held on January 11, 2026, through Announcement No.141/2025 on October 28, 2025.

The Phase 3 of multiparty democratic general election will be held on January 25, 2026, and the 63 townships participating in the election have been announced by region and state.

The Union Election Commission announced that the areas where the third phase of the election will be held are five townships in Kachin State, two townships in Kayin State, two townships in Sagaing Region, three townships in Tanintharyi Region, eight townships in Bago Region, eight townships in Mandalay Region, 17 townships in Yangon Region, nine townships in Shan State, and nine townships in Ayeyawady Region.
