Selena Gomez Is Proud She ‘Got Some Blue Going On’

This week, zillenials rejoiced: Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato reunited in the most intimate way possible for two businesswomen. They did a makeup collab. To honor their “Delena” blush bundle from Gomez’s Rare Beauty, the two did a full Disney Channel throwback photoshoot and reacted to photos from their time as young teen starlets, even the embarrassing ones. “Remember your video where you got to say that your favorite dish was a mug?” Gomez asked Lovato when presented with a photo of her at the Teen Vogue party in 2007. “Well, this is the video for me where I was like, ‘I got some blue going on!’” In the now memed red carpet interview, Gomez had “some blue going on” in her hair because she wanted some “a little edge and a little pop” for her look.

Now, Gomez finds humor in the video and even some pride in how unapologetically endearing her teenage self was. “But you know what? I’m proud,” Gomez said after laughing at the picture. “I think it’s cute,” Lovato added. It’s iconic enough that we’re still talking about it almost 20 years later.
