GK Barry reveals bonkers item she left for girlfriend as she heads into I'm A Celeb jungle

Gearing up to survive the I'm A Celebrity jungle, GK Barry has prepared her girlfriend, Ella Rutherford, for her absence ahead of her stint on the ITV show.

The influencer, who shot to recognition on TikTok, is one of the many celebrities who have decided to take part in the 2024 series of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, set to air in a matter of days.

GK Barry, legally known as Grace Keeling, will join the likes of Strictly's Oti Mabuse, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, Loose Women co-star Jane Moore, Coleen Rooney and Barry McGuigan, among others, in the upcoming series of the reality show, and was snapped landing in Australia ahead of the show's launch on Sunday (November 17).

But before she boarded her flight to join hosting duo Ant and Dec, GK explained that she made sure her striker girlfriend wouldn't feel completely alone in her absence and gave her a cardboard cut out of herself.

Speaking about who she would miss the most during her stay in the jungle, GK pointed out her girlfriend and her cat, saying: "When you are missing home and all you want is your comfort people, then that will be hard if they are not there." She then added: "But my girlfriend is also very excited for me and thinks I will do really well." GK continued: "I have got her a cardboard cut out of me so it’s not weird when I am away."

GK Barry said upon her arrival in Australia on Monday: "The flight was horrendous, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. I drank a bottle of wine. I am here to go to a retreat, just one with nature." But she then admitted she'd never gone camping. And while she was seen grinning when touching down, GK's impending I'm A Celebrity stint is shrouded by controversy as she recently deleted some of her own work.

The drastic move came after GK Barry hosted an episode of her podcast, Saving Grace, with controversial adult content creator, Bonnie Blue, who has since been banned from visiting Australia herself. During the interview with GK, Bonnie claimed she slept with hundreds of "barely legal" men aged 18 and 19 and was candid about touring universities during Freshers' Week to sleep with as many students as possible.

She then posted her efforts to her OnlyFans account where she earns money. After the episode aired, fans slammed GK for hosting Bonnie as they felt like the material was "harmful" to her fans. Amid the controversy, it has been said that I'm A Celeb are in the midst of an "absolute PR nightmare".

"I’m A Celeb is a family show and they can't have anyone on there who agrees with sleeping with barely 18 years olds," the source claimed to The Sun. "The top brass have held crisis talks as to how they handle the backlash with GK enters the show. GK has deleted the video but the furore hasn't gone away."

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’ starts at 9pm Sunday November 17 on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Play.
