The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Worldwide Day 1 Live Updates: Prabhas–starrer The Raja Saab earned approximately Rs 54.4 crore in India.
by Entertainment Desk · The Indian Express · JoinThe Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 1 Update: The Raja Saab built significant buzz due to Prabhas’ involvement and the fact that it marked the first horror film of his career. The posters released ahead of the film also created considerable curiosity. However, when the film finally hit theatres on January 9, it largely failed to meet expectations. While many viewers called Prabhas the only saving grace, others criticised the film’s plot, labelling it cringe-worthy. Despite the mixed to negative word of mouth, the film has surpassed the day-one collection of 2025’s biggest opener, Chhaava, which earned Rs 31 crore on its release day.
The Raja Saab collected Rs 45 crore in India on Friday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, along with an additional Rs 9.15 crore from special shows held across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala on Thursday. With this, the film’s total collection in India stands at Rs 54.4 crore.

As per Sacnilk’s advance booking gross report, the film sold around 5.62 lakh tickets in India (including block seats), generating Rs 28.09 crore in advance sales. In terms of occupancy, The Raja Saab recorded an overall occupancy of 57.16% across 2,650 Telugu (2D) shows. In Hindi, it witnessed a much lower occupancy of 15.63% across 2,742 Hindi (2D) shows nationwide. Meanwhile, the Tamil version registered an overall occupancy of 22.69% across 370 shows.
Whether this buzz sustains or shifts in favour of the upcoming Chiranjeevi film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu will be determined over the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday proving to be the real test.
Prabhas is yet to recreate a Baahubali-like impact at the box office. Most of his post-Baahubali releases have underperformed commercially, with Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar being notable exceptions. However, even these films failed to match the level of critical acclaim achieved by the Baahubali franchise.
