Jailer 2 Box Office Collection Day 1 Updates: Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated action-thriller Jailer 2, the sequel to his 2023 hit Jailer, hit theatres on October 15. Beyond its box office performance, Jailer 2 has garnered positive reactions. An excerpt from SCREEN’s review of Jailer 2 read, “Regardless of everything, Nelson has once again shown to the world, including the superstar’s critics, that ‘You may not like him, but you can’t deny — Rajinikanth’s got style.’ At one point in the movie, we hear only the sound of his boots, and we immediately recognise it as a nod to Baashha (1995). That’s Rajinism. When he stands in the middle of the shot, absorbing the essence of everything around him and delivering pure aura, one can’t help but quote himself: ‘Frame parunga ji!'”

It remains to be seen whether Jailer 2 can sustain its strong opening amid competition from Ajay Devgn-starrer Drishyam 3, Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar, and Vidyut Jammwal’s debut Hollywood film Street Fighter.

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 is a 'complete theatrical fest'

User Katana_20 posted on Reddit, "Complete theatrical fest. Crazy levels of aura farming to the slo mo shots, but it was overdone to the point where you’d assume the screen was frozen in place. Can’t even question the logical aspects of the main plot cause this was made just for fans. Nelson’s humor and comic timing really worked big time but the story doesn’t really move forward. Same format as Jailer 1. Try to catch it within the first couple days for the experience."

Several deleted scenes and sequences from Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 have sparked discussion online. Studio Flicks shared via X, "Jailer 2 Deleted Scenes (Based on statements, controversies and buzzes) 1. BTS video of Superstar Rajinikanth in younger version. There was a clipping, where Rajinikanth is seen wearing Yellow shirt and Dhoti - Traditional style. 2. Mohanlal 3 scenes deleted according to the costumer. 3. One pic with Santhanam from the sets circulated few months ago. 4. Vasanth Ravi was there during a celebration at Jailer 2 spot. Maybe, some of flashback sequences would have been shot. 5. Vijay Sethupathi in an event stated about Rajinikanth's dedication on rehearsing a 'Betel Leaves' scene. Looks like - VJS is a cop. Rajinikanth confesses his crime after a casual chat and that's when his team goes to Crime Scene. Few above are already confirmed, but few are just our assumptions based on BTS pics and visuals. Maybe, producers can release an Extended version after few weeks like it happened with Pushpa - The Rule."

Jailer 2 costume Designer Jishad Shamsudeen upset over Mohanlal’s scenes being cut, says he won’t return for sequel

The costume designer of Jailer 2, Jishad Shamsudeen, has expressed disappointment over the removal of several scenes featuring Mohanlal from Rajinikanth’s film. In a social media post, Jishad claimed that three distinct looks of Mohanlal, who plays Matthew in the sequel, were cut from the final version. He posted on Instagram, "To everyone who loves and supports me: With the release of Jailer 2, I want to share an important update !! Based on what was shot, I was completely confident in our work-even when reduced to a 2-second glimpse in the trailer. But with the film’s release, three of Mohanlal Sir’s distinct looks were cut entirely, and even that trailer scene was trimmed out. From my experience in cinema, trimming scenes involving a superstar like Mohanlal Sir is simply unnecessary. Seeing our superstar reduced like this, if there is a Sequel, I will not be a part of it. I am truly sorry to everyone who trusted me. I don’t stand for favors, profits, crore clubs, or stardom. I stand solely for the fans, lovers of the craft, and Mohanlal Sir. Thank you for always standing by my journey. - Jishad Shamsudeen."
