"Welcome everybody to Chepauk. It's a hot day, but it has been hotter here in times past. A bit of a wind with the way that this ground is done with the gaps between the stands, so that should bring some comfort. Let's have a look at how big it is. Not very is what I'll say. 63m square is the short boundary, and the other side is 70m, so you have some help on that side. You can shepherd them that way. Straight is 79m, that's quite a big hit. The first thing about this surface is it's mixed soil. So what does that mean? Well, it's a mix of black and red. Black traditionally stays a little bit lower and turns more. Red just aids a bit of hardness that we're seeing in the wicket. There is a few cracks. But for me, when I look at the success throughout this tournament on this particular surface, and I take back the T20 World Cup, it has been about spinners and their accuracy as well. How good were Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein, outstanding against Mumbai. And here they just attacked the wicket. They attacked the stumps, but they bowled those in between lengths. That meant that batters weren't sure whether they went forward or whether they went back and it created opportunities. So I think there'll be real assistance for spinners and historically it is here. We were here for that USA-Netherlands game. Six dismissals, bowled and LBW. So I think it'll be similar to that. Okay, and as far as the numbers are concerned, you want to get a 190 and more. I'd say add 20 to that. Perhaps you'd have to think about that a little bit and assess because it's an afternoon game. But batting first, you can defend if you get those numbers."

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) produced arguably their most complete performance of IPL 2026, trouncing the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 103 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Barring a 73-run stand for the third wicket between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, it was a batting meltdown for the hosts, who capitulated from 84/3 to 104 all out, handing the visitors a thumping win.

One of the stars for CSK was Akeal Hosein, whose spell of 4/17 in four overs broke the back of the hosts’ batting line-up. Speaking about MI’s capitulation in the second innings, he said that while teams can perhaps look evenly-matched on paper, it is who executes the plan on that day that decides the match result.
